Little Ruckus wrapped up the show!
I want to thank everyone again for coming out. It was great to meet the new people I met, and I’m glad everyone had such a great time. We’ve never had a crowd more willing to participate at The 108, and it really means the world to us! You guys seriously rock!

THE TERROR PIGEON DANCE REVOLT.
I cannot tell you guys how amazing this was. Right at the end of his set, he pulled out a giant purple sheet for all of us to get under. I don’t know what it is, but something about yelling and dancing under a giant tarp has a way of bringing people together. After the set everyone was in the greatest mood and talking to new people and making new friends. I’ve never felt that much camaraderie in our basement before!

This happened in the basement last night. Good times. There are a bunch of other videos up on our friend Stephan’s YouTube channel!

Okay, can someone explain to me how Universal is STILL trying to fight the internet? A better question, why hasn’t Universal figured out that people hearing your artist’s music IS SUPPOSED TO BE YOU’RE JOB. You’re a major fucking player in the music industry which NEWS FLASH, changes a lot. How can you do that while absolutely refusing to adapt your business to the culture and reality around it? How are you not aware of what is going on in your industry? Do you seriously think that is a good business model? You don’t sell records anymore. Instead of trying to beat that dead horse, you accept that and embrace the internet, and start figuring out what you can do to make the current state of the industry work for you. People have been saying the music industry was dead from the first printed music. Sheet music was going to “ruin the music industry” for those who performed it…then recording music was going to ruin that, and now guess what; the internet has ruined what you previously did in the music industry. IT FUCKING CHANGES A BUNCH, OKAY?! FUCKING ADAPT. Universal, you are making yourself more and more irrelevant constantly. I look forward to the day, that I suspect to be in the near future, where we don’t have to deal with your shit at all. /rant.

BAND:
And then of course there is a big paragraph copy/pasted from the band’s one sheet.
Look, maybe I’m just an asshole…but this pissed me off. With The 108 we’re trying to build a community and network of DIY and DIT musicians. We’re doing this because we want to meet cool people and make cool friends and hear cool music. TRUST ME, I understand how time consuming and annoying booking can be…but if you’re going to send me a generic email, at least take the time to fill my venue name in there SOMEWHERE. :/

As a member and resident of The 108 http://atthe108.tumblr.com/ we are always looking to make and create in any way that we can. We have been making patches, buttons and stickers for the past couple of shows and people are liking the limited and personal merch that we have made. I have been working at Big Table Studies in St. Paul for a couple of months now and just getting to the point, I love to screen print now. Its super fun. So I got some shirts to try some designs out for this weeks 108 show, which is on friday w/ The Steamboat Kings (Fair well Show), The Mystery Train, Rustpocket and the reunited Sunflowers. Its going to be a good show. I did eight or nine shirts and I think that they look great. They only way to get these is coming to the show and when they are gone they will be GONE!
Here is a little teaser for all of you!
Duuuuuuuuudes. We got merch!
